Francine Rivers is a talented author. She adds depth into each character, takes you to the scene and travels with you back in time in a way that only she can do. Her writing style will leave you hooked to the end.
It’s totally hard to fully understand how God operates. Some of the things He makes you go through sometimes do not make sense at all. But all in all He always has the end game figured out.
Unveiled is a book based on a bible story of a woman named Tamar. The story of Tamar is one full of pain but through it all she still kept her hope alive.
If you are familiar with her story you know that she was married to Er, who was one of the son’s of Judah. Er died befor they had a child. Judah then hands over Tamar to Onan who is his second born son so that they can have children in the name of Er. Onan’s jealousy does not allow him to help Tamar have children for her husband. Due to his cunning behaviour, God strikes him dead.
Customarily, Judah was supposed to marry Tamar to his other son Shelah but as a father after losing two sons after marrying them to the same woman, he was not willing to lose another one(the only one left). So he sent Tamar back to her parents house with the promisee that when his last born son becomes of age, he will sent for her (which was a lie).
Tamar goes back home and waits for her father-in-law to fulfil his promise which he never did.
One day she takes off her mourning clothes and parades herself as a prostitute with the intention of sleeping with her father-in-law so that she can bear children for the family.
True to her expectations, she succeeds. She becomes pregnant with twins and tht is how she gained back her dignity.
