The Kenyan Healt Cabinet Secretary has today announced the confirmation of 16 new coronavirus cases.
A total of 1015 cases have been tested in the last 24 hours.
Out of the 15 cases, one is a foreihner and 15 are Kenyan nationals. None of the confirmed cases has a travel history meaning they contracted the virus from people in the country, they were also nit in quarantine facilities.
They are aged between 23 years and 84 years. Nine are from Nairobi, Five from Mombasa and one from Homa Bay county.
On the other side seven more people have recovered from the disease. The total number of recoveries now stands at 60.
There have been two more fatalities. Total number of deaths from the virus stands at 13 in the country.
The most affected age group is between 30-59 years which forms most of the productive members of the society. Out of the 246 confirmed patients, eight are aged between zero and 14 years, 70 are between the ages of 15-29 while 164 between 30-59 years and 20 are above 60 years.
