In the last 24 hours, a total of 1056 samples have been tested for corona virus.
Of the testes samples, 23 turned out positive. 22 of the positive cases are Kenyans while one is a Burundi national.
The national tally for corona virus cases now stands at 672. A total of 32,097 samples have been tested for the virus so far.
Out of the 23 cases that were announced today by CAS Rashid, 12 are from Mombasa, 6 are from Mandera, 4 are from Nairobi and 1 from Kajiado.
20 of the cases were picked by surveillance teams while 3 are from mandatory testing centres.
For the cases in Nairobi 2 are from Umoja, one is from Komaroc and one is from Pipeline.
From Mombasa, 2 are from Kisauni, one from Likoni and eight from Mvita.
In Mandera, three are from Mandera East, One from Elwak, one from Mandera North and one from Mandera East.
From Kajiado, the case was recorded in Saina estate.
Those infected range from 1year 9months and 80 years. Of the 23 cases, 13 are male while 10 are female.
Two deaths from coronavirus have also been recorded.
