The police have arrested a man who confessed that he beheaded his teenage daughter.
The incident happened in Uttar Pradesh state in Northern India.
The man, Sarvesh Kumar, was walking towards a police station when he was arrested.
He was carrying his daughters head.
“He was making his way on foot to the police station to confess what he had done,” a spokesperson for Hardoi Police told CNN on Friday.
“He told police he had seen his daughter with a young man that he believes she was seeing, which made him angry as he was against it,” the spokesperson added.
Kumar who is a vegetable seller from Pandetara village was reported to the police by locals who stopped him ad filmed him while he was on his way to the police station.
According to police spokesperson, Kumar told the authorities that he found hos daughter home alone and locked her in a room then severed her head using a knife, he also told the authorities about his daughters relationship.
“Considering the situation, he was calm. He wasn’t crying or hysterical. When the policemen were speaking to him, they asked him to place his daughter’s head on the ground and to sit down, which he listened to without arguing back,” the police spokesperson told CNN.
