The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) said that it will now publish names and pictures of beneficiaries who have defaulted their loans since 1975 to date.
They also said that the beneficiaries who have defaulted despite previous communications sent to them, have hindered the funding of other needy Kenyan youths.

HELB has given a 30 days notice after which the names and photos of defaulters will be published in mainstream newspapers.
At least 85,000 HELB loan defaulters are not servicing their loans with an expected amount of ksh52.1 billion to be paid back.
