The break up between governor Alfred Mutua of Machakos County and his wife Lilian Ng’ang’a has taken the internet by storm.
The news was published on their respective social media accounts with each appreciating the time they had together as husband and wife.
Lilian said a wave of change has blown her way and she decided to end her relationship with the governor.
The only constant in life is change and we must be present and aware to appreciate and embrace it. Winds of change blew my way and two months ago, I decided to end the long term relationship with Dr. Alfred Mutua. We had a good run and I am forever grateful to God he brought us together. We remain friends,Lilian wrote.
Although she has stepped down as the first lady of Machakos county, Lilian said that she will continue with her philanthropic work through the Lilian Ng’ang’a foundation.
Dr. Alfred Mutua on his social media account also confirmed the breakup and wrote:
Lilian and I have been a blessing to each other. Two months ago we decided to disengage. We are in amicable terms and remain close as friends. We will continue to talk, meet and share ideas constantly.
She will be a close advisor as I govern Machakos county and run for president because I trust her sharp insight and heart. She has always been my number one fan. Our love for each other is permanent but I think at times, space and new directions are important,Read Dr. Alfred Mutua’s part in part.
Back in 2014, Alfred Mutua was married to his now ex-wife Josephine Thitu Maundu with whom he has three children; the two were caught in a bitter public battle for the custody of their children and matrimonial property, but he lost the case and was ordered to pay for the cost of the suit.
