Italy has decided to extend lockdown to Easter after a significant drop in the number of new coronavirus infections dropped drastically.
On 30th March the number of infections reported were 1648 a huge drop compared to 3815 cases which had been recorded the previous day.
Although thr country has been gard hit by the virus, Italy believes that lockdown will work out positively as the curve seeems to be flattening.
The total number of infections in the country is 105,792 with 12,248 deaths including 61 doctors. 15,729 people are said to have recovered so far.
The lockdown was supposed to end on 3rd April but it will now continue up to 12th April as the authorities continue to monitor the situation.
