Daniel Manduku, The Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director, has tendered his resignation letter to the Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia.
In the letter that was seen by Unsullied News, Manduku stated that he will be proceeding on terminal leave and his resignation was effective 1st June.
The MD has been fighting several corruption related cases for a couple of months.
The Star reported that Daniel had gotten wind of the disciplinary actions that awaited him and thus took the first step and tendered in his resignation.
Earlier this months, Manduku had been under the radar of The Directorate of Criminal Investigations over graft allegations but he was released without charges after the prosecution failed to avail his charge sheet.
Manduku, together with KRA Commissioner of Customs and Border Control Kevin Safari and others are alleged to have conspired to Gazette the Nairobi Inland Cargo Terminal as KPA facility yet it did not meet the requirements.Reported the standard.
Manduku has been serving as the KPA MD since may 2018
