They say necessity is the mother of invention and that has come to pass during these tough times when the world is battling COVID-19.
A group of students from Kenyatta University have come together and developed the much needed ventilators in the fight against coronavirus.
The ventilators were unveiled on Saturday 11th April through the institution’s innovation and incubation centre. The students say that they can manufacture 50 ventilators in a week.
Before they can proceed with the manufacturing of the ventilators, they need to get certification and approval of the prototypes from the government.
They remain optimistic that they will get the approval by Monday which will then give them a go ahead to begin mass production that will help the country in fighting against coronavirus.
Kenyans all over have applauded the innovation and said that they would like to see other universities following suit and giving their contributions in fight against the pandemic that has now engulfed the whole world.
