It has been close to two years since Miguna Miguna was deported from Kenya on grounds that he was not a Kenyan citizen.
The immigration department denied him entry into the country on grounds that he had denounced his Kenyan citizenship. His case was taken to court by several lawyers and activists but Miguna lost the case.
The self proclaimed general claims that he was sedated before he was deported.

On Thursday, through his twitter handle, he announced that he will be coming back to the country on Tuesday, 7th January 2020. The self outspoken general had earlier announced that his homecoming would be on January 11th. He said that due to public demand, he had now moved the homecoming date to 7th January 2020.
Miguna revealed his flight details to his followers. He will board a Lufthansa Flight LH 590. His arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) will be at 9:25 PM East African Time.
His past attempts to get back into the country after the deportation have proved to be futile despite orders by justice Chacha Mwita on December 14, 2018 on illegal deportation.
It is not clear if Miguna will be successful to get into the country this time round. From his tweet he seems very sure that this will be a successful homecoming for him.
Miguna is engaging his legal team, The Kenya Human Rights Commision and The Law Society of Kenya to help him ask the state to give him his Kenyan passport that was illegally taken from him.
My flight to my motherland will land at the JKIA on January 11, 2020…I need my valid Kenyan Passport on or before January 11, 2020,
To CJ David Maraga, Kenya Judiciary, my lawyers, KNCHR and La Society of Kenya: Court Orders must be OBEYED.
