Tuesday 7th was the day the NRM (National Resistance Movement) Leader, Miguna Miguna was set to land at JKIA for a grand home coming to his motherland Kenya. This is after he was deported from Kenya to Canada in 2018 on grounds that he was undocumented.
After he was denied boarding his flight from Germany to Kenya, on grounds that the Kenyan Government had issued a red alert to Lufthansa Air. Miguna has not lost hope of coming back to Kenya.
Miguna said that The Office of the President issued a RED ALERT to Lufthansa Air threatening to deny landing rights to the airline if it carried him to Kenya or any other African country.
One would have thought that that would kill Miguna’s spirit of setting foot into the country but that is not Miguna. He took to his social media to announce his next move after the incident of denied boarding.
I’m exploring all my options. I’ll communicate when and how I will travel to Kenya later today or tomorrow. Meanwhile, I urge all my supporters, freedom fighters and genuine human rights defenders to remain focused and unbowed. Mobilize for a huge homecoming to shame the despots.Said Miguna
True to his word, Miguna has explored his options and he is on his way home. He will be landing at JKIA on wednesday 8th Jan at 9.45am.
