Yesterday outspoken Gatundu MP Moses Kuria waded into the new BBI story that had been trending on social media for the most part of the day.
If you are not up to speed, here is the jist. The traditional BBI is the Building Bridges Initiative, or rather, the reggea taht could not be stopped. Yesterday’s BBI was made up online to refer to the story of Brian and Brendah who were reported as having been fully recovered from COVID-19, the illness caused by the Coronavirus.
Apparently, many sections of the story as told by Brenda did not pan out. Kenyans were quick to pick up several elements of her story as reported from different media stations and decided there was more than meets the eye.
It did not take long before she was trending on social media. Some of the inconsistencies pointed out was she apparently gave two different ages to different media stations. She denied knowing Brian prior to the infection though photos was dug up showing the two had met previously and were probably known to each other. Some of the photos she posted on social media at airports and in the US did not tally with the dates that were reported by the government.
Now according to Moses Kuria, someone misled the president on this cause and he blames the president’s advisers for this fault. The MP alleges this wouldn’t have happened if Ruto had been in the picture.
President Uhuru had a video conference chat with the duo after they had recovered before having a press conference with CS Mutahi Kagwe.
To be clear, Health CS confirmed that indeed Brenda and Brian had recovered from the coronavirus.

From a communications point of view, the Government of Kenya performed badly on COVID-19 yesterday. Forget the Prophet Owuor healing Press Conference for the Brenda & Brian Initiative. Do not be fooled. Continue keeping safe. Corona Virus is a very lethal killer. 100,000 Americans will die in the next 2 weeks as confirmed by President Trump. I think someone misled my President yesterday. And I think my President is lonely. And I think my President misses his Deputy
Moses Kuria Facebook.
Moses Kuria has remained the most vocal supporter of DP Ruto and still a darling of sorts in Mt. Kenya and around many regions of the country. In the last BBI rally before reggea was stopped, Kuria’s departure, alongside Senator Murkomen, led to the departure of many people something Kalonzo Musyoka would notice.
With the BBI surgery that has sort to separate Uhuru from Ruto in Jubilee, Kuria and nearly all allies of Ruto have now sort of turned to defacto opposition that would check on the excesses of the government.
Now Kuria is finding himself speak for the opposition in calling for the government to be truthful at a time of this pandemic.
