Mukhisa Kituyi To Run For Presidency in 2022

Kenya’s highest ranking diplomat In the united Nations system, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi has disclosed that he will run for the big seat in Kenya come 2022.

Speculation has it that he is a secret candidate of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga though Mukhisa Kituyi has declined to confirm the same.

The Star stated that Mukhisa might vie for the presidency on a new political party that will not clash with Jubilee or Nasa.

After I complete my international mandate, I want to take seriously the possibility of offering myself as part of a national solution and national renewal. Building on the experience of the current government, I want to make that contribution,

Mukhisa said

Mukhisa who describes himself as an intellectually finished product is set to finish his term at UNCTAD in July 2021 just in time for the 2022 elections.

I am 63 years old, relatively of good health. I think I am intellectually a finished product,

he said

I have an idea about governance, international experience, international best practices. I have had a privilege – on duty – to visit 119 countries, which is more than most people visit in their lifetimes.

Raila who has made four unsuccessful attempts to become president has not stated whether he will be on the 2022 ballot or not though sources close to him indicate he might not vie for the top seat.
