Nine more people have tested positive for coronavirus disease. The total of confirmed cases in Kenya is now at 234.
A total number of 53 people have been discharged since the fight against the virus began. One person has died bringing the total number of fatalities to 11.
A total of 704 people have been tested in the last 24 hours. Over 10,000 people have been tested so far. 1000 people are in quarantine and 156 are in isolation facilities.
The affected persons range from the age of 2 years to 64 years.
Giving a press statement on 16h April, the president applauded Kenyatta University students for developing a prototype to be used as inexpensive ventilator.
He also applauded other stakeholders who are playing a role in manufacturing various items to help in the fight against coronavirus.
