Raila Odinga has penned down a letter to all Kenyans as they fight the inevitable war against COVID-19

In his letter he says that this war is not for the selected few but for everyone. His appeal is that everyone should personalize this war and use their existing social connections and ask them daily to protect themselves from Coronavirus.

Let each of us make daily phone calls, have video chats, send emails and text messages to friends, family and acquaintances including chamaa members, prayer group members, business people, riders, touts and drivers, former and current school mates etc and encourage them to avoid crowds, observe social distance, wash their hands and wear masks even improvised home made ones,

He wrote.

In the letter he encourages people to make daily follow ups with their social circles and find out if they are managing or if they face any challenges.

The youths were urged to use technology to encourage their friends to stay safe and keep them company from a distance.

Raila Odinga did not fail to mention how Kenyans are strong in faith and their belief in friends, family and social networks. He said that their determination, kindness and humour should come to play now.

Let’s go all out and tell our friends to tell their friends that the window is slowly shutting. If we don;t take personal control now, there will be no control to take late,

He concluded.
