Director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), Jeong Eun-kyeong, reported that patients who had been thought ti have cleared of the Coronavirus disease tested positive again on Friday.
It is believed that the patients were not re-infected but the virus had been reactivated.
epidemiological investigations are still underway as it is unclear the reason behind the positive tests.
“The number will only increase, 91 is just the beginning now,” said Kim Woo-joo, professor of infectious diseases at Korea University Guro Hospital.
It is speculated that patients may have relapsed or false test results could be the reason or probabbly the remnamts of the vitrus culd still be in the patients body but could be harmless to the patients and to those around them.
