A battle for the estate of the late Tob Cohen is shaping up.
Tob Cohens siblings were presented with his will on Friday but the details of the will still remain private.
Sarah Wairimu and her legal team stayed away prepairing to contest the will in court. News has it that Tob Cohen might have left Sara out of the inheritance.
Sara has produced an affidavit showing that they bought and developed their kitisuru home together.
The will was opened before his sister, brother and his lawyers. 50 % of the estate goes to Cohen’s sister, 25% of the estste to Cohen’s niece and 25% to Cohen’s nephew.
Bank account balance goes to Cohen’s sister.
Sara Cohen’s lawyer said that the opening of the will is in bad taste at a time the widow was still locked up in remand. Murgor says he will challenge the will all the way to Supreme Court.
There ia an affidavit stating that Sarah and Cohen began living togeter in 1998 as husbamd and wife and held a customary ceremony in July 2006. The affidavit also states that they both bought their home in Farasi Lane in 2000 and it was registered in Tob Cohen’s name as agreed between themselves.
Sara says by virtue of their marriage, the plot jointly belongs to then and each party has an equal right or claim over the same.
