Kenyan politicians are traitores for abandoning the electorate during the tough tomes of the coronavirus pandemic.
In he article, the standard said that Kenyan politicians who are among the world’s highest paid had not taken any pay cut or pushed any motions to help in the protection of Kenyans against the effects of coronavirus.
“There has been a lack of leadership from the MPs since the Coronavirus outbreak. Not a single initiative to cushion Kenyans; no slashing of their hefty salaries as the disease wipes out jobs and businesses. Kenyans are truly on their own,” wrote the standard.

In his response, Kipchumba Murkomen said that parliament is dead and that the opposition is creating more problems by trying to be more government than government itself.
For the 1st time Standard has boldly called out my colleague Sen. Moi&his bro.I hope they were quoted in the story. I can however confirm that Parliament is DEAD. It’s an extension of Executive&the opposition is causing stampede trying to be more government than government itself
Kipchumba Murkomen

Murkomen also noted that parliament is being used to support the interest of the executive which works with the opposition, case in point being how the national government took over Nairobi county and the formation of Senate COVID-19 committee which he said were done against the constitution.
Every time I raised issues of public interest like Money to counties,Take over of NBI County,Laws being passed&signed against the Constitution, formation of Senate COVID19 Committee etc the media have always reduced my efforts 2 TangaTanga/Rutoman/anti-Uhuru bullshit. BE OBJECTIVE
Said Murkomen
He also said that he had moved a motion in parliament to establish COVID-19 Emergency Committee to help put together legislative proposals to help deal with the pandemic.
