John Mutinda, the driver of the car that plunged into the Indian ocean at the Likoni Ferry channel on 7th December 19 might have intentionally driven into the ocean.
According to his wife, Ruth Mueni, John left the house at 4 am claiming to have an urgent appointment. Ruth tried to get the details of the said urgent meeting but she was not able to.

She tried to hide the car keys in order to stop him from leaving, her attempts were however unsuccessful. John left the house in his pajamas.
When he got to the Likoni Ferry channel, he sped off the ramp at high speed and drove into the ocean.

8 hours later, the rescue teams retrieved the vehicle from the ocean.
