Gatundu South Member of Parliament and a Ruto staunch ally has charged at the quorum used yesterday by President Uhuru Kenyatta to sanction changes to the Senate leadership.
Yesterday, Senator Murkomen was ousted as the Senate Majority leader while his counterpart Nakuru senator Kihika axed as the Majority whip. The changes were effected through a Jubilee-KANU senate meeting at State House.
Now allies of Ruto, and its fair to say, a majority of Jubilee supporters are upset with this move as it is what’s the public face of the bitter divorce between Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto.
Moses Kuria now has claimed that the purported list of signatures that was used to justify a quorum for the meeting was not representative of the Senators who attended the meeting.
According to Moses Kuria, the signatures were those of guests (any cleared guests) visiting State House through Gate D. Kuria has also promised to take the war against Uhuru Kenyatta in parliament where they are targeting to oust Deputy Leader of the Majority Party.
Meanwhile Jubilee Deputy SG Caleb Kositiany has written to the Registrar of Political parties dismissing the Senate leadership changes as unconstitutional.
