Aisha Jumwa, Malindi Mp, has voiced her concerns on why the Jubilee party is doing away with female legislators from top positions and replacing them with their male counterparts.
This comes after Susan Kihika who is the senator of Nakuru county was ousted from her role in the senate leadership.
Aisha Jumwa noted that they have fought so hard for gender equality and that they were not going to settle for less.
Susan Kihika who was the chief whip in the senate was replaced by Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata.
“As women leaders, we will not sit pretty, watching our rights in political parties and national leadership trampled upon. We urge State House and the Jubilee Party to protect the rights of women and safeguard the gains made in promoting gender equality. Previously as you all know, my party (ODM) also threatened to expel me but I stood ground and these women here fought for my rights,” Jumwa said.
