Following the majority vote in the senate that saw Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu ousted of office, the other way out for the governor is to petition the impeachment in court.
On Thursday 30th, Waititu went to the courts to petition his impeachment, his last chance to try and see if he will be reinstated as the governor.
On the same day Ex-governor Waititu had been invited for an interview at NTV on Sidebar,a day after his impeachment but he did not show up for the interview.
He had earlier confirmed his attendance but it looks like he grew cold feet at the last minute.
This is after a dramatic turn of events that had happened during the day where his deputy governor was supposed to be sworn in as the new county boss. The swearing in failed to take place as anticipated as the judge said that the correct procedure had not been followed.
The new date of swearing in Dr James Nyoro as the new Governor has been set. Kiambu County Secretary and Head of Public Service Martin Mbugua has now gazetted Friday, January 31, 2020 as the new swearing in date.
