Recently I was scrolling social media and came across a video done by Trent Shelton. I would like to share the words of wisdom in this video with you today. I believe it will make a difference in someones life. Shelton talks about the five things that you need to quit to live a more fulfilling life. They are as follows:
Stop Pleasing Everybody
Not everyone will like you or support you. The first step to an unhappy life is trying to please everybody. It does not make sence to please everyone if in the end you will lose yourself. Stop losing yourself to impress people who do not care about you.
2. Stop Trying to Control The Things That You can’t Control
Quit driving yourself crazy by controlling the things that you cant control. You need to focus on the things that you can control. You cannot control gossip, lies, hate, rumours etc. But you can control your peace and energy. Stop giving your energy into things that do nothing to your life. Let God control the things that you can’t control. Focus your energy to things that you can control.
3. Stop Trying To Be Perfect
Be real and stop being perfect. No one cares if your past has mistakes. Just because you have some bad chapters doesn’t mean your story can’t end well. Mistakes do not mean you are a mistake. They make you human. Those judging you have imperfections as well.
Stop allowing social media to make you who you are not so that you can please everyone. Life is not about perfection, its about progression. Stop trying to be perfet for imperfect people .
4. Stop Accepting Less
Life is too short to accept whatever comes your way. Do not lower your status to meet someone at their level. If someone truly wants to be in your life they will raise their standards to meet you at yours. Stop lessening yourself to make people feel comfortable. Stop silensing your greatness to make people comfortable.
5. Quit Measuring Your Life.
Stop thinking you are not enough because your life doesnt add up to what the world wants you to be. Quit compairing your life. Stop compairing your journey to someone else’s journey. When you do that you will never appreciate who you are. You will always think you are less.
Do not allow society to put labels on you. That you have to look like this to be beautiful, you have to have a certain amount of following to be successful and so on. Stop measuring and start appreciating your life.
