There is nothing as certain as death and nothing as uncertain as the time of dying. Everyday we wake up to sudden brutal deaths. Sometimes these are cases of love gone sour. Some are heinous acts while others are unexplainable.
In the current era of technology, news fly around so fast. Some of the news set social media platforms ablaze. It evokes mixed reactions accompanied with unsolicited advice from whoever wants to say whatever they want to say. Condolence messages and speculations come in naturally.
Once such incidents occur, the procedure is usually the same. The concerned government departments will send a special team to look into the matter. We then make some noise on social media. Mainstream media then delves into the topic as their main story. Then the matter dies a slow death. We then forget and move on to the next occurrence.
If it is a university student, fellow students may picket and netizens may rush to their keyboards in quest for justice. The affected family may attend court session after court session. But the sad truth is that with our justice system, we may never know the truth. It’s only God, the deceased and those who committed the murder that will know what really happened on that fateful day.
That said and done. It is true that we only have one life to live on Earth. We can dream what we want to dream. Go wherever we want to go and be what we want to be. But whether our souls will end up in heaven or hell will be entirely determined by our actions in this life.
Following the imaginations of your heart may make you happy for a while but the ultimate goal should be to live in God’s will. Death can only kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Therefore in all you do, be fearful of God who can destroy both the body and soul in hell where there is no mercy. God’s mercy can only be found while a person is still alive here on earth, once people are dead there is no mercy.
People believe that dying is just stopping this existence, what they do not know is that real life begins after death, either in God’s Glory or in everlasting condemnation and shame: eternal disgrace.
You are making that choice now. Where will you spend eternity, in hell or in God’s Glory?
There are many who preach the Gospel warning others to repent. I hope they practice what they preach. The worst feeling when you get to hell will be that you knew Jesus then walked away from Him.
It is time for you to turn to the repentance of God and look for salvation. Do not look for a church that makes you feel good. Look for a church where the spirit of God moves. Secure your soul while you still can for you do not know the time nor the hour of your death.
